Thesis

Located next to the current Veracruz Aquarium, the MACC emerges as the 5th stage of this complex, with the purpose of making this a space not only to exhibit marine species, but also to create a conscious, deep and reflective critique on the care of the marine ecosystem.

The project is conceived with the premise that the planet is currently unsustainable, which generates environmental and social crises, so it seeks the participation of communities to design a sustainable future for all, responding to three UN goals for 2030: climate action, underwater life and responsible production and consumption.

The museum consists of four exhibition halls with different themes related to the pollution of the marine ecosystem, especially in the Gulf of Mexico and the P.N.S.A.V., as well as a temporary exhibition hall to exhibit current issues of a different nature. The proposal for the public space prioritizes the user’s contemplation of the immediate natural environment as a strategy for linking with the themes addressed.
