La Presencia  Festival

I spent a month in Pluma, Hidalgo, Oax. at a Finca. As an architect I worked on the design of the ephemeral bamboo constructions for the Festival La Presencia. I also participated in the construction of these structures, from harvesting the bamboo to assembling them. It was a great learning experience and added to the previous knowledge I had about bamboo construction.

El Alto Project

I worked in the restoration of buildings listed as World Heritage by UNESCO, together with the team we developed the master plan of the project and each of the architectural projects for 5 houses, in addition to supervising the construction in progress. I was also part of the association Revitalización del Alto and we generated projects such as the semi-pedestrianization of 16th street west in the neighborhood, street cleaning days, facade painting, restoration of the kiln for the potters of Barrio de la Luz, among other projects.

The project consists of a series of cubes that are assembled, covered with a white screen where short or cinematic films will be projected. Each cube or series of cubes will be assembled by the community and the assembly team in underutilized spaces throughout the Veracruz-Boca del Río conurbation, to convert them into recreational, cultural and educational spaces.

Each location will have a special theme linked to the problems experienced in the area, and there will be films for families, children and adults. The purpose of this is to visualize the problems and empower the population to take action on them.
